Didier Wiot is Chief Executive Officer at Elia Grid International. 

With more than 25 years of experience in the power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, Didier has a wide range of experience in Power System Engineering, Asset Management, Strategic Advisory as well as in the Development of state-of-the-art transmission assets including long-distance multi-terminal HVDC and Offshore Grids.  

He has held various positions ranging from Subject Matter Expert to Senior Manager with industry leaders like Siemens, Electrabel and Elia.  

Didier has extensive experience dealing with different international organizations in multicultural settings, developing strategic partnerships and building successful long-lasting businesses in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. 

Prior to his experience at EGI, Didier was Head of Technical Governance & Expertise for the Elia System Operator (Belgian TSO, part of Elia Group) where he coordinated all activities related to the lifecycle management of transmission assets.  

Didier holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brussels (ULB) and an Executive Master in General Management and Business Administration from the Solvay Business School. 

Didier is also an active member of IEEE and Cigre.
